I am so happy to get started with you.
My name is Rebecca Nixon.
My background includes charge nurse, medical surgical specialty rehabilitation, pediatrics intensive in home care, hospice, home health, general in home care case management, clinical oversight and director, just to give you some of my fun experience.
Over the past few years, I have been doing primarily infusions for people with rare disorders. It is my favorite specialty. I have also done legal nurse consulting, starting in 2013 after attending the Vickie Milazzo Instistute and Biz School for Nurses.
Before I worked in nursing, I was a pharmacy technician, compounding and assisting with specialty mental health service and compounding retail and hospital pharmacies. I am amazed with pharmacy and health care technology.
I started to pursue my passion for pharmacology and that led into more understanding before my nursing endeavors. My goal is to one day obtain my PharmD for research. But, I always want to be a nurse!
I started Nursebeccaconsulting.com about 5 years ago. It was revamped a few times with my blog after a guest blog on the nerdynurse.com.
For SPNN, I perform infusions for people with rare medical conditions.
The first learning module will consist of proper bag technique for prevention of infection. On the handout, you will find a print-out of the same steps outlined in the video.
